Data Validation Checks are SQL statements that run checks on completeness, consistency and quality of data. They are an integral part of the system and are designed by the system designer. The user cannot add or modify the statements, but can run them and use the output to check his data.

Usually the DVC's are divided into three categories:

I: I/E Ctriteria Ctriteria derived from the Inclusion and Exclusion rule from the study.
Q: Quality Criteria concerning completeness, and probability of data.
R: Rule Analytic criteria concerning consistency of data.
